What happens when we apply clinical research made for men to solutions for women?

This causes little to no solution as biological women have different needs from biological men especially taking cycles into consideration. It was only until the late 90s that little research was put into the science of women yet up until today, we still face the issue of underrepresentation of women's health in medical science.

In this episode recorded at the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress, Dr. Krista Kostroman, Chief Science Officer of The DNA Company, is joined by Betty Murray, Founder and CEO of Living Well Dallas. Betty Murray, MS, CN, IFMCP is a Certified Nutritionist and Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP). She possesses a Master of Science in Human Nutrition Science and Integrative & Functional Nutrition and is currently completing her Ph.D. dissertation at Saybrook University. As one of the first 300 certified functional medicine practitioners with the Institute for Functional Medicine (Ifm.org), Betty has been a thought leader and progressive force for the functional medicine movement since 2006.

Dr. Krista and Betty discuss how functional genomic practitioners undertake their career - for which when Betty was diagnosed with colitis, an autoimmune digestive condition, led her to study nutrition after experiencing being told by a doctor that nutrition does no such thing to health and the only solution is to take medication. Her study had made her change her lifestyle and diet for the better and inspired her to continue this field especially to contribute to women's health in society.

With this knowledge, Betty dives into the importance of knowing how to deal with menopause in women and highlights that knowing which genes and hormones make an impact on your health can make the difference in how you get to  live your life.
